Balm

What’s happening on Mist Mountain ?  A Walk-Around in April, a very unpredictable month.

The Lemon Balm is re-greening from nothing more than brown sticks this month. It is  known  as lemon balmbalmcommon balm, or balm mint, is a perennial herbaceous plant in the mint family, which means it is easy to grow and does well with our over abundance of water through most of the year.

The blueberry bushes are just showing the smallest of growth on the tips of their branches to let me know they made it to another year as well.  Spring is full of new starts.  I am trying to get as many perennials in as possible, a few each year, because there is such a short actual growing season for seeds and starts that have to do all their growth in only a couple of months.
