Made for The Kindling Project: Intentional Act of Kindness #23 . The Mission of The Kindling Project is giving just a little bit to help someone follow their creative passion.

Kindling definition: Tinder; material for starting a fire, awakening, ignition.

How many of us may have started sooner on following or bliss if we just had the money for the paint, or supplies, or web page or canvas or writing workshop. I’ve been there so many times. Every little bit helps.

So I will be periodically selling some of my wares specifically to fund this project.

Leap day

An extra day for the year.  We humans are always trying to fix things, change things, make everything fit.  Next  comes time change again, from daylight savings.  Make things complicated instead of going with the flow.  We even have to delete or change the reason for holidays and even move them around so the date gives us a three or four day weekend.

Would not adding in this extra confusing day really screw our life up so much that all sense of time would be lost?  Would we even notice?  Do we care?  Is this what happens if we have too much time on our hands?

I do not like Lemonade

No matter how much sugar you add to the lemons,  I still do not like lemonade.  Today , I read something about taking what has been dealt to you and allowing it to make you better not bitter.  I am afraid it all hit me the wrong way and I have been on a rant all day. Sorry, Carey, I didn’t mean to screw with your positive thought waves.

Yes, I agree you should not dwell on the crap, but, I also believe that all is not so black and white.  There are other options.  Walking away, walking around, flying over, swimming around, taking a whole different route, making coffee instead. ( I do not like lemonade,  remember?)

The latest euphemism that sends me on a similar rant is ” It is what it is”.  Argh!  No, only if you chose to accept IT.  Try something new, different, out of the box, anything for a new and different perspective.  Do not give in.

Complacency is not the answer. To me, not choosing to do anything is enabling myself.  I have finally learned to recognize when I am enabling others (eventually), and I am beginning to see the ways we enable ourselves.  It is easier than the hard work it takes to change course.  Or maybe it is like the people that go out on the jetty to watch for the title wave.    That is actually a subject I should devote to another rant.

Long story short, I do not like lemonade, I shall sit here and continue to drink my coffee and work on a plan for my labyrinth.

An Alphabet for the Crone-ing Woman

(and anyone else who needs to shove that dark and negative clutter from their mind)

Pick a word or two, envision it, dissect it, meditate on it, make a mantra out of it, for an hour, a day, a week, a year. Write it once and tape it to the wall, write it 500 times if you need to.
