What are you about?
I am about creating my life as I want it to be, not what others think it should be. I am about embracing my crone. My goal is to be comfortable in my skin (even as it sags), free and joyful in my heart simple in my mind (ignoring the chatter), passionate in my spirit, and quiet in my soul. I want to satisfy my curiosities, simplify my life, laugh a lot.
Why should they read your blog?
My kids and grand kids tell me if I want to know what is going on in their life to follow them on Facebook. Some day they will be more likely to find out what is going on in my life by following my blog. In the meantime, I hope to find other crone goddesses on their journeys as well as plant seeds for those who follow.
Why are you blogging, rather than keeping a personal journal?
Actually I am blogging AND keeping journals. I was called the “Sticky Note Queen” when working full time. They were right. There were sticky notes attached to everything. Was it the thoughts I needed to write down, or was it the need for bright (and clashing) colors decorating the computer, the desk, the shelves, every report, the calendar. Now, working at home part time, I find even more reasons for notes. Personal notes, work notes, notes for husband (who doesn’t write notes and therefore forgets what it is he is supposed to be doing), notes to go in every package I send out; notes on envelopes, notes on any junk mail, notes on notes, post=its, scrap pieces of paper, legal pads, steno pads. The only thing I don’t write on is myself. My grandmother instilled in my brain at a very early age that writing on yourself equals blood poisoning and that was up on her list close to dancing with the devil and going to hell.
It has taken me over half a century to realize that a writer/blogger doesn’t have to write novels fit for publication. Instead I drew, painted, quilted, knitted, wove, expressed myself through any and all crafts I could find; too intimated to believe I could write and therefore terribly blocked. Another positive of croneing – not much intimidates you anymore. So I begin here.
What topics do you think you’ll write about?
Everything and anything that peaks my interest. Tidbits of early stages of this life, new beginnings, detachment, chickens, surviving, joy, living.
Who would you love to connect with via your blog?
Other souls searching and/or already following their path, their passion.
If you blog successfully throughout 2014, what would you hope to have accomplished?
Being able to lay it all out there without worry or guilt. Expanding my love of reading and writing and art and life through others experiences as well as my own.
