Geraniums are my go to for color. As soon as the starts show up at the store, I will buy a bunch for little money, take them home and will them to become their gorgeous selves. They are extremely hearty so do well in the up/down, up/down temperatures. A few winters I Actually wintered them over, but not lately. Gives me a good excuse to go shopping for more.
