The chicks we got last August have grown so much it is becoming difficult to pick them out of the flock. They should be ready to lay about the end of the month or mid next. Of course, that depends on how nasty the weather gets. That is usually when we get a blast of arctic air. This year who knows with the strong El Nino blowing.
The last snow has finally melted except in the most shaded corners and the pile that lands in front of the door from the roof (who designed this house?). Anyway, the girls are much happier now and even acting a little spunky, giving me the what for because I won’t let them run on the patio or in the garden.
The ones with the tufted cheeks remind me of little lions.
