Magic and dreams and good madness, the possibilities are endless.
After several weeks of crazy erratic weather, the sun and blue sky are blaringly spirit lifting. A great way to start the new year. Already visions of gardening are dancing in my head, but the 20 degree weather keeps me at bay.
Isn’t it amazing how sunshine can turn a cold day into a bearable one. The light is so important to the senses and it shows in our attitude. Sunlight and smiles often go hand in hand. Amen to that!
I grow vegetables in pots on raised tables, because I can no longer bend down to the ground comfortably. I still have a few herbs and kale to harvest and although we’ve had nothing but rain here in the UK for months now, I feel that an exciting new growing season is just around the corner! 🙂
Yes, Jacqueline, I notice that I keep raising my beds higher and higher. And I want to do more herbs and teas this year. Things that take a little less work and last more than one season.
Thank you for visiting.
Haven’t seen the sun for many days. There’s a monochrome duvet cover all over the landscape. Flurries …
My husband used to be into gardening, big time, but now we live in an apartment.
I have definitely pared down on the size and quantity, but I just can’t stop. I always grow vegetables that I don’t even like just to see if they will grow. I’m pretty sure it is an addiction.
The first year, when we’d moved here, he had a plot in a community garden, but now he’s down to flower boxes on the balcony.
The only thing I’ve grown is potatoes … in my younger days, and on a very small scale. It was a special feeling, though, to get them up, boil them and eat them … knowing that I’d grown them myself 🙂
Rebekah, we don’t have the best growing season here. I have decided that potatoes and beans grow the best, and they are the beginning of a good soup, so potatoes and beans it is.
